Textile and paper cut-outs are glued on a textile base. Embroidery and paint are added to create special effects and a 3-dimensional feel. Inspired by Matisse’s decoupage art and Baya’s bizarre, decorative elements, the Gaudia design is a mix of several techniques and structures. The textile print enhances the effect of the sisal it is printed on.
