Our Farro and Akono designs are based on ikat textiles. Ikat is a dying and weaving technique that originated in Indonesia and is now used all over the world. The process involves binding, dying and drying the yarn prior to weaving, resulting in the hallmark 'blurriness' of the design. The word ikat means 'to bind' in Javanese.
